What is Anvil "Group Therapy"?

Anvil Veteran Group Therapy is DVA-Funded Group PT that promotes physical wellbeing and reduces symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD, as well as to help veterans build mental resilience and grow their support network. These sessions take the form of group physical training for injury rehabilitation, prehabilitation, and general health; and one-on-one mental health “check-ins”. They are run by veterans, for veterans, and are completely free. Get started with a D904 Referral form from your GP for psychological treatment in the form of Physical Training.

Where Do We Train?

Anvil T&D run sessions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am at the Balance to You Gym located at 5/36 Windorah Street, Stafford. Although these sessions require a completed D904 referral form to participate in for free, feel free to drop by to speak to one of the Anvil Training Team and see what the sessions are about! (Please arrive 30 minutes early if you intend on trialling the session, to complete the associated paperwork and waiver)

Who Runs It?

The Anvil Training Team is made up of young Australian Veterans who all served together in the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, in Townsville, between 2011 and 2017. We believe in a growth mindset supported by continuous learning, smart physical training, and mental health support, in pursuit of lifelong personal development.
